2. Information We Collect

Nickname

When you play EthnioQuiz, you choose a display nickname. This nickname is stored locally in your browser and is submitted to our servers when you participate in global leaderboards.

Game Data

Your scores, earned coins, unlocked games, audio preferences, and other gameplay progress are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you submit a score to the leaderboard.

Leaderboard Data

When you submit a score, your nickname and score are sent to our server and displayed publicly in the global rankings. No additional identifying information is attached to leaderboard entries.

No Personal Information Required

EthnioQuiz does not require an account to play. We do not collect your email address, real name, phone number, physical address, or any other personally identifiable information.

3. Local Storage (localStorage)

EthnioQuiz uses your browser's localStorage to save game state and preferences. The following keys are used:

• eq3_nick — Your chosen nickname
• eq3_games — Game data (unlocked games, progress)
• eq3_entities — Country and entity data
• eq3_ranks — Local rankings cache

Additional keys store values for coins, game progress, and audio preferences. All of this data resides exclusively in your browser and can be cleared at any time through the "Reset All Data" option in Settings or by clearing your browser data.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-H7ZC4YHRKC) to collect anonymous usage statistics such as page views, session duration, and general geographic region. This helps us understand how the game is used and improve the experience. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics.

Google Consent Mode v2

EthnioQuiz implements Google Consent Mode v2. By default, all consent categories — including ad storage, ad user data, ad personalization, and analytics storage — are set to denied. Tracking and personalization are only activated after you provide explicit consent through the consent banner.

Google Funding Choices

We use Google Funding Choices as our Consent Management Platform (CMP) to present the cookie consent banner. This tool complies with GDPR and ePrivacy Directive requirements and allows you to manage your consent preferences at any time.

5. Advertising

EthnioQuiz displays advertisements served by Google AdSense (publisher ID: ca-pub-9562574562750195). Depending on your consent preferences, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.

• Personalized ads require your explicit consent and use cookies to tailor content to your interests.
• Non-personalized ads are shown when consent has not been granted and do not rely on user profiling.
• Third-party ad vendors may use cookies for ad serving, frequency capping, and reporting.

You can remove all advertising by purchasing the "Remove Ads" option (2.99€) or the "VIP Pack" (9.99€) from within the game.

6. In-App Purchases

EthnioQuiz offers optional in-app purchases including additional coins, the "Remove Ads" option, and the "VIP Pack." All purchases are processed through secure third-party payment providers.

• We do not store, process, or have access to your credit card number or payment details.
• Virtual coins earned or purchased within EthnioQuiz have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. Data sharing is limited to the following:

• Leaderboards: Your chosen nickname and scores are publicly visible on the global leaderboard.
• Google Analytics: Anonymized, aggregated usage data is shared with Google for analytics purposes, subject to your consent.
• Google AdSense: Anonymized data may be shared with Google and its advertising partners for ad serving, subject to your consent preferences.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

• Right to Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to Erasure: You can request deletion of your data. You can also delete all local data yourself by using the "Reset All Data" option in the game Settings.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: You can change your consent preferences at any time through the consent banner. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
• Right to Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
